THE STORY

THE STORY

We love a good startup story! Every mom and pop business has a worthwhile story behind it and Offbeat doesn't disappoint! Husband and wife team, Mark and Bianca, are from Lakewood and have a passion for White Rock Lake! What else do they have a passion for? Clearly boxing and cycling which brought the vision to life where it now has its very own brick and mortar home in White Rock Lake. Their belief is that the East Dallas area was under-served and wanted to bring fun and functional fitness to the area! And with Offbeat, nothing about the workouts are ordinary!

THE BOXING

THE BOXING

You can take part in boxing-based fitness classes in one room completely dedicated to boxing lined with heavy punching bags! These classes aren’t for the faint of heart but all classes are beginner friendly and you are able to move at your own pace, so if it's your first time you have nothing to worry about and the Offbeat team will take care of you. A single class looks like a warm up followed by a workout about as long as a prize fight would be! Along with working with the punching bags, circuit-based portions are included to keep your body well coordinated and to strengthen your core! So basically Offbeat not only keeps you in proper boxing form, but they keep you strong and ready for the bag with the circuit conditioning!

THE CYCLING

THE CYCLING

There are 2 forms of cycling classes at Offbeat to keep your bod in top cardio excellence because sweat therapy is a real thing! There’s OnBeat44 and OffBeat44, both 44 minutes long, and we will break them down. OnBeat44 is all about movement and rhythm with the beat of the music but with some fun choreo thrown in like tap backs to keep you loose on your bike and in a prime flow state of mind (and body)! And then OffBeat 44 focuses more so on music-driven drills while taking out the rhythm aspects and additional movements. These are beginner friendly too so no need to fear the crazy fast classes you might’ve seen elsewhere!

THE AMENITIES

THE AMENITIES

Don’t try to deny that we all love when a studio is pretty! One of our favorite parts of the studio is without a doubt the community room and other amenities that look more like a stylish coworking office than a gym! There’s a station of premium coffee, easy grab and go snacks, lifestyle products and a full merch area so that you can rep Offbeat in and out of the studio! It’s really nice motivation to be able to look forward to a coffee or treat on their spacious balcony while you’re cooling down after class or simultaneously creating new, like-minded friendships in a group that offers a great sense of community!

THE CLASSES

THE CLASSES

5% of all class and membership sales are donated to a nonprofit called Trinity Athletics who provides functional fitness as well as leadership options in after school programs - which are now virtual. You can head to their website to peruse the class options and check out their membership packages! That’s $89 total off your intro month to try out their classes for yourself. There are also 3-class packs for $33 and use code “whiterock” for $15 off!
