THE OWNER
Sue Ellen’s is owned by Kathy Jack, a respected leader in both the Dallas bar industry and queer community. She opened the bar in 1989, making it the oldest lesbian bar in Texas. Throughout the years, she’s fought for equality through education and fundraising – the bar’s weekly drag shows have raised money to fight HIV & AIDS. She’s helped organize The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade, was the 1st female president of the Dallas Tavern Guild AND is an Inclusion Ambassador for the Dallas Mavs. She’s also a part of the group behind Oak Lawn favorites like Station 4 and JR's. When you visit Sue Ellen’s, be sure to cheers to the trailblazer who created it!
