Everybody loves a good sports bar, whether you are going to watch a game so you can yell with other individuals at the 20 TVs surrounding you or if you just love that divey sports bar vibe. Either way, there are so many great things to love: the atmosphere, the food, and of course the beer! One thing always remains the same though: how much Dallas loves its sports so we have broken down the best spots to catch a game in Dallas!

CHRISTIES SPORTS BAR

Christies sports bar

Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, Christies Sports Bar is now one of the oldest standing Uptown bars, and a go-to if you are a true, die-hard sports fan. Why? Because they have 60 TV’s all surrounding you so you can watch a multitude of games at every angle, and they have great divey drink specials too including $5.50 whiskeys and $6.50 vodka drinks on Sundays!

THE NODDING DONKEY

One of our favorite spots to watch any game, especially with good weather, is The Nodding Donkey in the State Thomas neighborhood of Uptown! It’s the perfect set up with a patio that’s connected to the rest of the bar, so you don’t feel too far from the action. Their patio is always lively with cornhole, jenga, and their own tv’s with sound! They also have an extensive food menu with wings, burgers, and Tex Mex, and an impressive drafts and cocktails menu.

STAN'S BLUE NOTE

stan’s blue note

Stans Blue Note is a quintessential Dallas sports bar, and while it used to be known as quite the dive, it went through a revamp in the last few years, solidifying itself as a great spot to catch any college or professional sports game. And what else are they known for?! Their food! They may be a place to watch your favorite games but they were also voted best bar food in D magazine for 2019.

HERO

Hero

Hero has quite literally been every girl’s hero by redefining the classic sports bar into something that’s beautiful and clean, and that boasts healthy fare and craft cocktails! And this HG Sply Co sister restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! It’s also conveniently located beside American Airlines, which is even better. And it is MASSIVE - with screens everywhere, private rooms to rent out for game day watching and that same fresh food you can expect at HG Sply!

DIBS ON VICTORY

dibs on victory

Another new sports bar located in the heart of Victory Park, just a block away from American Airlines. This spot that comes from the same guys behind High Fives and Alice, is a little more upscale with their craft cocktails and food including 24K gold-dusted wings! And we’ll let you in on a little secret: drinking here might let you spot some Dallas athletes as they like to hang there too!

HIGH FIVES

high fives

If you’re looking for a college-bar atmosphere, High Fives is your place! It’s actually a Texas Tech bar so if you happen to go on college game day, expect lots of raider red! We love High Fives for their patio that is decked out in Christmas lights year-round and they have tons of tv’s. They have pretty cheap drinks and it definitely gets pretty rowdy!

FRANKIE'S DOWNTOWN

Frankie’s Downtown

Good ole Frankies, how can we not add them to this list! Frankies is your typical neighborhood sports bar located in Downtown Dallas. It is exactly what you think of when you think of a sports bar, from the masculine vibes to the fried food and beer/well selection, and to ALL the TVs! And fun fact, they also have an underground bar to resemble underground pop up bars from the prohibition era!

SKELLIG

Skellig

Skellig, located off Henderson is definitely one of our go-to bars in general, and also a great place to catch a game too! They have a really awesome draft list, and they change it up weekly, and they just opened their new outdoor beer garden! So more space for eating, drinking and watching!

REDFIELD'S TAVERN

REDFIELD’S TAVERN

The creators of Barley House, Katy Trail Ice House, Bryan Street and more present you with a new patio and backyard hangout located in the Medical District! And it’s pup friendly! Whether you feel like watching the game inside or outside Redfield’s has plenty of 75-inch screens for game watching as well as 30 craft draft beers, a large selection of whiskey’s, gins and vodkas plus a full menu. That’s a game day win!

HAPPIEST HOUR

happiest hour

Happiest Hour brought sports bar watching to a whole new level when it first opened several years ago. With what feels like a hundred TVs (really 60+) scattered between its multiple spaces, both inside and outside, up and down, this place is a go-to for American Airlines game pre-gaming or watching! Go before any Stars game and you’ll only see green.

BOWLOUNGE

Bowlounge

One of the best places in Dallas to watch games while playing games! Bowlounge is a great retro dive bar in the Design District offering several bowling lanes, pool, foosball, ping pong, soon hole and more, AND it’s the only place in the area that plays every football game. That makes it the best Design District neighborhood sports bar, and you can get in on the fun yourself while watching!

KATY TRAIL ICE HOUSE

katy trail ice house

Katy Trail Icehouse: the Dallas institution where the beer is always cold and your dog is always welcomed! Located right in the heart of Uptown, this was the first bar we were ever told to go to! Their patio is a classic go-to for any occasion, but maybe sure to arrive early on a big game day - it fills up fast and this bar is so popular that they sometimes need to implement a line! Luckily they just expanded the patio though so that helps!

JAXON BEER GARDEN

JAXON BEER GARDEN

What better way to follow up a big game than with a choice of 30+ local and regional craft beers paired with delicious southern-inspired fare? Whether you’re watching from their 10,000 square foot patio under the string lights or one of their large screens inside, Jaxon Beer Garden is a prime location for catching a game!

BLUE CENOTE

BLUE CENOTE

If you find yourself in the Bishop Arts area looking for a place to hunker down for a sports game, the brand new Blue Cenote is a pretty ideal location! Their 6,250 square foot cantina plays your favorite sports across 20+ screens and a game day bonus is that they also serve mouth-watering wings! They are closed Monday and Tuesday though so make sure you head there on a Wednesday-Sunday game day!
