Say hello to the “home of the original vegan taco” aka El Palote's fast casual vegan eatery! The Mexican spot features a full vegan menu loved by vegans, vegetarians + meat lovers alike!
Updated March 2022
El Palote originally opened in 2015 via husband and wife duo, Aurelio + Lily Arias. The restaurant was not always fully plant-based, though! They served traditional Mexican dishes and on the weekends introduced vegan versions of tacos, flautas, tortas, enchiladas & more! Customers quickly fell in love with these soy-based alternatives, leading El Palote to transition their menu to 100% plant-based and pave the way for vegan Mexican restaurants in Dallas!
The exterior may be unassuming, but inside, the space is bursting with culture and is full of dozens of regulars ready to enjoy a plant-based feast!
THE MENU
The menu at El Palote features traditional Mexican food, all made from a soy-based meat alternative and served with rice and beans! Choose the flavor seasoning on your meat alternative, from fajitas, barbacoa, al pastor and more! The portions are large and filling and will make you forget there’s zero meat or dairy involved. You can’t go wrong starting with the loaded fries that are stacked high with “meat” and all the classic nacho toppings!
After COVID, El Palote decided to start selling meal kits that serve 4-6 people and provide everything you need to make a delicious, fully vegan Mexican meal!
