We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the new spot on Lovers Lane, and it is just as delicious as the ones we’ve visited in New York City. There’s something about a bagel coming straight out of the oven that hits different, and the whole shop was buzzing with excitement for the first Texas location!

POPUP BAGELS

PopUp Bagels began as a small backyard hobby in Connecticut and quickly evolved into a nationwide sensation, backed by notable names like Paul Rudd and JJ Watt.

They keep things simple by focusing on doing one thing really well, which means you won’t find any sandwiches or toasters here! You just pick your bagel flavor and pair it with their iconic rotating schmears.

We loved the interior of this new shop, especially all the Texas nods like the Texas-inspired mural and old blue-branded truck parked out front!

THE EXPERIENCE

The “grip, rip, and dip” method is exactly what it sounds like: you tear off a piece of bagel and dunk it right into the cream cheese. You just pick three bagels from their five daily flavors, and then pair them with a carton of their rotating schmear! We tried the spicy scallion schmear and salted butter on their sesame, salt, and everything bagels!

Pro-tip: While there may be a line when you arrive, they have got it down to a science and the line moves quickly! Plus, you can find them right in Inwood Village, which has plenty of parking!
