When temperatures dip below say 65 degrees, Texans bring out the coats and boots. When that time comes, there’s nothing better than a bar with a crackling fire to sit by or a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Explore our list of cozy lounges, restaurants and bars for when you want to go out, but stick with the cozy vibes!

Bowen House

BOWEN HOUSE

Bowen House’s vintage house feels, dreamy cocktails and glam bar area feel like stepping into a different era and features a warm, crackling fire as a retreat on cold days! Warm up with spirit cocktails like a classic old fashioned or get fired up for the fall and winter cocktails that have been long overdue this year, who’s ready?! And with the romantic style atmosphere make it a dinner date with a $27 steak special!

SKELLIG

Skellig is the sister bar of Old Monk and one of East Dallas’ best known bar hangs with its drink specials, great grub and buzzing nightlife (pre-COVID). And there are so many aspects that make it cozy! Primarily getting a hot boozy bev and snuggling up around a fire pit! Actually the entire patio is pretty cozy with its string lights and enclosed pup friendly vibes. But the inside is too because it has an old tyme pub feel!

FOUNT BOARD & TABLE

FOUNT BOARD & TABLE

Fount is one of our faves for more reasons than just one, but we love the cozy seasonal vibes found inside year round and how the outside looks like an adorable historic home. The posh, moody aesthetic is idyllic for soaking in some much needed “you time” with a coffee drink and one of their delicious, curated grab n go snacking boards!

PARLIAMENT

The dim lighting and plush digs at Parliament are stylish but is still a spot that is comfy. We love that it feels like a cushy, members only kind of place with a classic, upscale bar design, mood lighting and some pretty impressive premium cocktails! And make it an even cozier experience during their rain happy hour with $4 cocktail sips while the rain pours outside!

RISE NO. 1

RISE NO. 1

Warm soufflés, darling tableware, French press coffee and warm, French bread just to name a few but the real comfortability at Rise is in the atmosphere which is like walking into a comforting French cafe. At night especially when it’s romantically lit. One of our favorite spots is posting up on the patio when it's completely enclosed with a bowl of their marshmallow soup and a glass of French wine or inside at one of the booths overlooking their fun decor! The tables on the patio are separated by curtains that make it feel like a  more intimate dining experience.

RUINS

RUINS

Ruins puts a trendy, Oaxacan-style spin on the cozy bar atmosphere and flips it into more of a Latin American cocktail den! They serve up after-dinner digestifs like brandy along with agave spirits and other specialties that will have you feeling snug and warm! In fact, their spirit list is extensive so their dark and inviting drinkery is the perfect spot to hole up and find your next favorite drink of choice. (with a side of tacos of course!)

LOUNGE HERE

LOUNGE HERE

If a place can be cozy and vibrant at the same time, Lounge Here has it down to a science with a retro Cali aesthetic! Intimate boots, a plush high top, tables with bucket seats and a private patio all contribute to its charm and the southern small plates to share will definitely have you feeling down home!

THE MANSION BAR

THE MANSION BAR

It’s hard to beat an evening in this regal resting place just a few blocks from the heart of Uptown nightlife. It’s quiet (unless you’re there for live jazz Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights), dark and intimate. Grab a Mansion G&T, their signature drink, and an order of truffle fries ($5 on Mondays!) and relax as Hunter Sullivan or some other classic crooner serenades the upscale crowd posted up fireside. This is NYC’s classic Bemelmans Bar’s Texas twin, and we are continuous smitten by its sophistication.

HONOR BAR

HONOR BAR

Another one of our patio favorites and apparently, yours too based on responses from our Story survey asking about favorite cozy corners. Located in Highland Park Village, The Honor Bar has that same dark, sultry interior you would find at The Mansion Bar, but more of a California wine country atmosphere out on the patio. It’s shaded by a big tall oak tree and lit by a gorgeous fire place and patio lights. Next time you are in the area, grab a glass of wine or a martini, and do not forget their Emerald Kale & Rotisserie Chicken Salad! It might be the best salad in town.
