Get ready for a number of posts this next week about recent openings - the end of this year has been a really exciting time for the Dallas restaurant scene with so many openings, we can barely keep up! And one that we’re so absolutely excited about is Bacari Tabu, from Julian Barsotti of Nonna, Fachini, Barsotti's, and more!

Updated December 2023

BACARI TABU

Bacari just opened this week in the unmarked space next to Nonna (seriously, just pull open the door, as much as it seems like a vacant space!) You’ll be transported to a dimly lit and swanky space with an air of “1950’s jazz club meets old school Miami cocktail bar.”

DRINKS

The cocktails follow the throwback tropical theme…try the Pisco Punch, Mai Tai or Bellini a la Cipriani. Our favorite though was the Tabu, vodka, Galliano, sweet & dry Vermouth Benedictine and orange bitters.

MENU

Following in the footsteps of its sister spot, Nonna, you’ll find a menu of Italian dishes like a Chicken alla Parmigiana, Lasagnette al Ragu and a 25-minute table risotto. You can also order Nonna’s famous white clam pie, and served complimentary with your drink order are the most delicious cheese-stuffed fried olives!

LIVE MUSIC

One of our favorite parts that we cannot wait to return to experience is the Murphy-bed-style stage that flips down and hosts jazz music on Friday and Saturday nights.

A LITTLE BIT OF DALLAS HISTORY

If you’ve been in Dallas long enough, the name Tabu may ring a bell. That’s because the space used to be an iconic jazz club called Strictly Tabu, which served up great pizza and music. Barsotti will pay homage to its predecessor by continuing both!

VISITING & LOCATION

Make a res on Resy to visit. It’s open Monday through Thursday 5pm to 11pm and Friday and Saturday until 12:30am, and can be found at 4113 Lomo Alto through an unmarked door.
