We had seen this spot on Instagram, Kyuramen, when it went viral in Houston for its honeycomb-shaped booth setup, so when we found out we had one in Dallas too, we rushed up to try!

KYURAMEN

Kyuramen opened in Frisco in May, but there are over 120 locations around the US and Japan. Founded by a man who loved ramen so much that he explored all of Japan to find the best ramen noodles, he then set out to open his own concept. But it’s not just the ramen that brings people in, but the vitality of the design too, or at least, that’s what happened in Houston when it opened to lines of up to 3 hours long!

THE SPACE

Step in to find a decorated paradise of geometric light wood shapes, a wood tree adorned with ornaments filled with customer messages, and Japanese tapestries, murals, and lanterns! Choose a honeycomb booth for which the restaurant is best known, and sit at the bar or for a really intimate experience. There are also 6 private dining booths in the back, forming a super cute alleyway!

OMURICE

You must try their signature Omurice, a Japanese fusion dish that marries a Western omelet that sits onto a bed of rice, which is then cut open and topped with a demi-glace. To us, it tasted almost like a curry meets fried rice dish!

RAMEN

Beyond some other appetizers, the menu is mostly filled with different styles of ramen! Find the one that best suits your taste buds, and make it a combo with a Thai Tea or “Amazing Lemonade” (their house specialty), plus a pork bao bun to start.

SMOOTHIES & JUICES

Order a range of smoothies or juices to pair with your meal OR stop by at the juice bar connected to the restaurant if it’s just something quick and fresh you’re looking for. We went with the Taro smoothie and it was delish! P.S. Everything on the restaurant side is served by a robot!
