Originally from Austin, this one-of-a-kind restaurant and bar sits nestled in East Dallas! It opened in July and quickly became a hotspot for sharable plates and outdoor dining. We're sharing all the details below!
Updated January 2022
After opening its first location, Loro made headlines almost instantly because of its two famous chefs/owners and James Beard Best Chef winners, Aaron Franklin, of Austin's Franklin Barbecue, and Tyson Cole, of Uchi. The two combined their expertise to create this Asian Smokehouse filled with casual vibes and small plates, and they brought their masterpiece to Dallas in 2021. Grab a seat inside their expansive space or outside on their patio, order your plates at the bar, and enjoy the Texas dancehall vibes while you wait for your food!
If you've been to the Austin and Dallas locations, you know that they're almost identical. The building is meant to resemble a Texas dance hall, but their version is more contemporary with lots of wood elements and Asian influence. Outside, the covered patio is charming with string lights and picnic tables, and on the side you can find more casual lounge seating.
Get ready to dive in! That’s exactly what we did when we visited for their soft opening. We ordered one of almost all of their 12+ veggies, snacks and bar foods. The wonton chips and dip are great while waiting, snd some other standouts include the corn fritters, curried brisket rice and tomato and cucumber salad!
For mains, choose from their variety of meats, sandwiches and rice bowls. We suggest the Char Siew Pork Belly, the coveted smoked beef brisket, available after 4 PM, and the Smoked Baby Back Duroc Pork Ribs, available Sunday and Monday starting at 4 PM.
Four Boozy slushees and 6 batch cocktails all at $8.50! We recommend the Kyuri Mule, Mango Sake Slushee, Mandarin Margarita or frozen Vietnamese Coffee. But you really can't go wrong with any of their drinks!
Visit weekdays from 2-6 PM for $6-$9 food items and $5 slushees, sake, wine, and beer!
Otherwise, Loro is open Sunday-Thursday 11AM - 10 PM and on Friday and Saturday until 11 PM. It's a great low-key late night spot for patio cocktails and snacks!
Loro Dallas became such a hit so fast that the owners have decided to expand into Addison! The fourth location is scheduled to open in the fall and will be located on Montfort Drive!
