MICHELIN GUIDE TEXAS: DALLAS WINNERS
The Michelin Guide was started over a century ago by the French tire company Michelin, initially to boost tourism by encouraging road trips, and has since evolved to be the ultimate accolade for restaurants worldwide that recognize excellence in culinary experiences. This means the award recipients are on par with some of the world's top culinary cities!
The distinctions are:
One, Two, or Three Michelin Stars: Ranging from one star for very good cooking, to two stars meaning it's worth a detour, and three stars for exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey.
Bib Gourmand: Recognizes restaurants offering good food at moderate prices.
The Michelin Plate: Acknowledges quality food.
Green Star: Awarded for outstanding sustainable practices.
Selected: A lesser talked about distinction that doesn't come with a star, but signifies "simply a good meal" that is well-cooked with quality ingredients.
ONE MICHELIN STAR:

Mamani
Just opening its doors this fall, Mamani has already secured a Michelin Star! Located at The Quad, it's the newest concept from brothers Brandon and Henry Cohanim, the duo behind James Beard-nominated Bar Colette and exceptional sushi bar Namo under their Feels Like Home Hospitality group. To bring their vision to life, they teamed up with executive chef and partner Christopher De Lellis, who spent 13 years at Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas. The result is a spin on a “bistronomie” approach, bringing sophisticated techniques and the finest ingredients to Parisian favorites in setting that’s both gorgeous and comfortable.
The approachable, something-for-everyone menu brings French and Italian Riviera inspiration to those Paris faves. Expect dishes like Dover sole with brown butter and Meyer lemon, a 22-ounce dry-aged ribeye with potato gratin, whole duck served “the Mamani way,” and housemade pastas including agnolotti with corn and chanterelles, and cavatelli with pork sausage and broccoli. Every plate is designed to feel refined yet unfussy, making it perfect for a date night or a celebratory dinner!

Tatsu
Tatsu, a high-end, authentic omakase experience, took home One Michelin Star! Their mission is to combine Japanese hospitality and the art of Edomae Sushi to transport you to another world. They serve a rotating tasting menu that typically consists of one or two appetizers, thirteen to fifteen pieces of nigiri-style sushi, a hand roll, miso soup, and a dessert. The high-quality ingredients and innovative Japanese flavors make it a favorite among foodies -- and it's already one of the most coveted reservations in Dallas, with only ten seats available.
The restaurant is a culmination of chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi's family history -- he grew up watching his father prepare traditional Edomae-style sushi and sashimi in his family’s century-old restaurant in Hasuda City, Saitama, Japan. After a stint in New York City running an award-winning sushi bar with a legendary chef, he took his talents to Dallas -- and we're so glad he did!
