Most wouldn’t guess that there’s a 121-acre oasis of rolling woodlands right in the middle of urban Dallas! Oak Cliff Nature Preserve is a local hidden gem less than 10 miles from Downtown for cyclists, hikers and those just looking for a new spot to enjoy the great outdoors!

OCNP is privately owned by the nonprofit, Texas Land Conservancy, so keep them in mind for donations and volunteer opportunities throughout the year! There are just over 8 miles of multi-use hike and bike trails that sprawl throughout the preserve. It’s open from dawn to dusk and boasts some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. If you choose to visit, remember to stay on marked trails in order to preserve the habitat protected by the OCNP.

ACTIVITIES

While hiking and finding biking trails are popular activities at Oak Cliff Nature Preserve, it’s a spot for more recreational activities, too! Birdwatching is a common pastime, and it's a prime spot for photography! Pets are allowed but must be leashed at all times.

Happenings

An important aspect of OCNP is connecting with the community and with those who are likeminded in their love of nature! They host lots of group hikes, volunteer workdays, and events. Last year they hosted their 21st anniversary at Oak Cliff Brewing Co! You can find events like their monthly volunteer workdays on their Facebook page
