TEI-AN

A Japanese restaurant by master chef Teiichi Sakurai, Tei-An is a one-of-a-kind concept with 3 omakase offerings and a private rooftop. It’s been open in One Arts Plaza downtown for 16 years, during which Sakurai’s soba noodle artistry has been nationally recognized and has earned him many James Beard Award nominations!

Plus, it’s one of the only authentic Japanese soba houses in Texas!

THE CHEF

Chef and owner, Teiichi Sakurai, was born in Tokyo and learned the art of sushi in high school. He later moved to Texas, where he opened his first restaurant, Teppo, in 1995 and his second restaurant, Tei Tei Robata Bar, in 1998. He brought uncooked fish, Japanese grilling, soba noodles, and authentic Japanese cuisine to Dallas!

Tei Tei Robata Bar still exists today on Henderson Avenue and is incredible, but Sakurai passed it on to the head chefs.

THE MENU

Order a variety of dishes à la carte including sashimi, tempura, and of course, house-made soba including a soba “bolognese” which is a must-order!

The best way to experience the menu is through their signature omakase tasting! Choose from two tastings: the classic omakase for $145/person, or the premium omakase for $250/person

*they are also open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am to 1:30pm*
