At the start of wine country is the city of Napa, the largest in all of Napa Valley. Stroll down First Street for shopping galore and top notch bars and restaurants. For a bite to eat, head to the Oxbow Public Market or sip on a glass of wine or local beer on tap at the Cadet Beer & Wine Bar. If you're feeling outdoorsy, paddle board or kayak down the Napa River to get the best views of the city.

The charming town of St. Helena has a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. Its Main Street is lined with shops, art galleries and some of the highest rated restaurants in the state of California. Just a twenty five minute drive from Napa, is the beautiful town of Sonoma. Even though it is not technically in the Napa Valley, it is an adorable town worth noting, as it is the heart of the Sonoma Valley. The quaint downtown plaza is lined with historical adobe buildings, museums, art galleries and local shops. With over thirty tasting rooms just off the plaza, this is the perfect town to expand your pallet and try some new wines. Munch on some gourmet toasts for brunch at Folktable, or dine at Layla for a Mediterranean dinner out on their gorgeous outdoor patio.
