Did you know that April is Diversity Month? While sampling food from different parts of the world isn’t limited to one month, it’s a great time to recognize, celebrate, and support those local businesses giving us a taste of various cultures. And Garland has a diverse food scene, which includes the Tex-Med restaurant that is Ferah Tex-Med!

Updated April 2021

Tex-Med is not a typo! We visited the raved-about Texan-meets-Mediterranean restaurant and loved it! It's perfect for Mediterranean food lovers looking for a little something different. A stunning interior embellished in shades of blue and evil eye decor invites you in to try their fare and explore new flavors!

TEX-MED FARE

Think Southern European with a Tex-Mex twist... like gyro or falafel tacos accompanied by spicy margs, greek salad, and baked feta cheese! You’ll find features like a Texas shaped mousse and Turkish coffee as well as inclusive options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets. Enjoy the dining room or the outdoor patio for lunch, dinner, or happy hour, which is Sunday-Thursday from 3-6 PM, and features $3-$5 specials. Or visit to build your own brunch on Sundays from 10 AM - 2 PM!

Garland's Diversity

Garland, just a 30-ish minute drive from Dallas, is known for its rich diversity, and in fact, the school district speaks over 100 languages! That means you can also expect a range of amazing international cuisines to try! It's home to restaurants and menus from around the world, giving you a taste of other cultures to appreciate even when we can’t visit them in person. You can try Colombian, Filipino, Salvadorian, Peruvian, Nigerian, Pakistani and more all within this city!
