Dubbed the Oak Room, Bombay Bicycle Club's patio came to fruition as a pandemic pivot, and it's been a neighborhood favorite ever since! Turf lays below a giant oak tree filled with wicker basket lights that make for a dog friendly and fun day time hang, but also a dreamy and casual late night drinking hole. Visit for their fun programming on the lawn too from yoga to trivia to Thurs-Bay nights (for the ladies!)

DOWN ON GRAYSON

A perfect stop during your tour of the Pearl district for a refreshing beverage on their adorably shaded patio, thanks to their striped umbrellas. Grab a picnic table, order a frozen marg and try the grouper sandwich, a fan fave at this New American bistro. The patio is stocked with heaters and fans too, perfect for keeping you outside despite some less-than-ideal weather.

BURLESON YARD BEER GARDEN

It's no surprise that a place with Beer Garden in the name would make the list, and Burleson on the Eastside is great for casual beers during the day at one of the dozens of tables across their sprawling backyard. You'll also frequently find live music on weekend nights, and "Burly-oke" on Thursdays if you want to test out your vocal cords!

CHERRITY BAR

A bar that gives 100% of its profits to charity, Cherrity Bar is all about its community. Beyond supporting local non profits, it's also given back to San Antonio via a great patio to enjoy! That includes free Wednesday evening yoga, frequent live music shows and a playground for patrons' kids.

The most fun patio bar around, Elsewhere has a bit of everything from porch swings to all the plants to a river walk, farm-to-table cuisine, and two giant giraffes welcoming you in. You can bring literally any type of animal in (they can call such animals as llamas, pigs and ducks as past guests), and don't miss their weekly programming that includes live trivia on Tuesdays, a vendor market on Thursdays and fire dancers on Fridays!

LITTLE EM'S OYSTER BAR

For a patio plus a glass of wine, specifically rosé for the aesthetic, Little Em's Oyster Bar is the perfect choice. Its white and baby pink and blue color scheme mixed with an overall daintiness makes for one cute outside space. Paired with salmon ceviche, yellowfin tartare or even caviar service, you will have an instagram worthy and bougie afternoon out in SA!

THE LITTLE RHEIN PROST HAUS

A German beer garden on the River Walk means great views and an even better atmosphere! There is ample space for posting up with a big group, live music every night, daily drink specials including rotating 1/2 liters for just $5 and more. If you love Little Rhein so much, you can visit their other spots too including MadDogs British Pub and Biergarten, both overlooking the River Walk.

A rooftop bars in San Antonio, Otro overlooks the River Walk a top the Canopy Hilton hotel. Enjoy Texas-inspired small plates and tequila cocktails, plus happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-6pm on the covered Southwestern decorated patio. After cocktails, head downstairs to dine at Domingo, found on our Must Visit Restaurants in San Antonio list.

Head up to Sancho's Cantina for a lively yet casual multi-level patio. There's music almost every night minus Wednesdays, many nights you can see not just one but two bands. Happy hour is served Monday through Friday 12-6pm complete with $4.75 margs, and if you're around on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9-11pm, it's reverse happy hour!

THE COVE

Except to find foods made from sustainable growers, if not from their own garden housed on property, 60 Texas-brewed beers on tap and a community-focused atmosphere that fits the whole family, including kids and dogs! THE FRIENDLY SPOT

The name says it all...The Friendly Spot is just that! A no frills, casual, fun and friendly ice house located in Southtown. It's the perfect choice for a Spurs game or any other sports moment, which can be viewed on one of their 8 TVs or pop up inflatable 9ft screens. Like its predecessor above, this patio bar has a playground to keep your kids entertained!

THE MOON'S DAUGHTER

The second rooftop bar on this list, The Moon's Daughter can be found atop the Thompson San Antonio, 20 stories above the city. Stop by at sunset for breathtaking views, enjoy a vinyl brunch on Sundays, see live musicians on Tuesday nights or visit on the full moon each month for a cosmic themed night of tarot readings, a special menu and DJ spinning tunes.
