Texas is such a big state that sometimes it feels daunting to explore! We've had many chances to expand our Texas travels though. Like when we spent a few nights at the Texas landmark, Stagecoach Inn in Salado, right off of 35! While we were there we also discovered a few hidden gems that we thought we would share with you guys, just in case you find yourself traveling through Salado, Texas!
STAGECOACH INN
STAGECOACH INN
The Stagecoach Inn was first opened in 1852 as a stagecoach stop along the Chisholm Trail back in the pioneer days. The town of Salado itself was one of the earliest settlements in Texas. The Inn features 48 beautifully restored rooms with each room carefully designed to keep the authentic feel of the hotel. The hotel was recently renovated so it is an excellent place to stay for a getaway or stop on the way to Austin! In fact, it was redone by the same hospitality group that redid The Stoneleigh in Dallas and built the East Austin Hotel. If you don’t want to stay, you can just drop by for a meal or drink at the bar and restaurant.
