The Rustic is a Dallas staple located right off of 75. Their mission is simple -- homestyle meals that are locally-sourced, good drinks, fun, and live music. What kind of vibe is The Rustic? It’s right in the name; the inside of the bar feels like a cabin in the woods! Their patio is huge, and the outdoor stage has been home to both local and national artists alike.
The Balcony Club has been serving up cocktails and live music since 1988. Their performers have spanned almost every genre, including jazz, r&b, blues, soul, funk, classic rock, and even classical and country. Whatever your music taste, The Balcony Club surely has a show for everyone! The club is located in Lakewood, right next to the historic Lakewood Theatre.
Located in North Dallas, Memphis has been serving DFW with live music since 1981! All performances begin at 10 PM and finish up at 2 AM. Be aware that this is a smoke-friendly spot! They technically don’t serve food, but you can order from the menu at Shuck-N-Jive right next door until Memphis closes at 2 AM. Come catch a show and order some of your Cajun favorites!
Many of these spots have been around for awhile, but Adair’s takes the cake; they opened their doors way back in 1963 on Cedar Springs! Now located in Deep Ellum, Adair’s not only boasts live music every night, but they also have one of the best burgers in town. If you get there before the music starts, don’t worry about being bored; Adair’s is fully-equipped with Big Buck Hunter, shuffleboard, a jukebox, and other games to keep you occupied until the band takes the stage!
Also located in Deep Ellum, The Free Man has live jazz/swing/dixieland music 7 days Monday-Saturdays from 7-10 pm and Sunday from 2-5 pm. Then late night they have a variety of live music genres including rock, alt-country, folk, punk and hip from 10 pm - 1:30 am every night of the week! They also have happy hour Monday-Friday from 4 PM until right before the show, so come early and have a cheap beverage before the music starts!
Don’t drink or not in the mood for alcohol? Head to Opening Bell Coffee! They do have adult beverages, but they also have sweets, coffee drinks, and a full menu. Additionally, they offer a plethora of products from other local vendors! This amazing live music venue and coffee bar is located in the basement of the South Side on Lamar Lofts.
