The celebrated Dakota's Steakhouse has been a staple in Downtown Dallas for 37+ years until it tragically closed last year due to the pandemic. It was so exciting to hear the news that the fine dining, underground gem was planning to reopen its doors and is now open for lunch + dinner!

HISTORIC STAPLE
For those in the millennial or get z category you might know of the Dakota’s legend, but for those who don’t and have local parents or family they could definitely tell you stories of its iconic past. We ran into the piano player in the elevator and he told us of bringing his prom date to Dakota’s back in the day! It definitely holds a special place in the city.
SPACE
If you are being introduced to Dakota’s, its well known for being a subterranean restaurant. Only the elevator is seen from valet where you’ll be taken underground to the ultra swanky steakhouse. The vibe is romantic but its a good spot for business meals or celebrations! On the patio you’ll get a prime view of the waterfall and tables will be moved next to it as the weather cools down.
For an intimate outing, request one of the private tables that have somewhat of their own room and seat up to 4! If you have a special event, they have room to host in private dining rooms.
MENU
Dakota’s is an American steakhouse that focuses on premium steaks but you’ll find fresh seafood, fine wine, craft cocktails and more. If you like beef, we recommend picking on of the iconic steaks from Allen Brothers Prime Steaks. Adding on sides and starters was a must during our visit like half shell oysters, truffle fries and parmesan risotto! There’s also a full menu at the bar.
SPECIALTY DRINKS + HAPPY HOUR
This one needed its own section! The spirits may be aged but the cocktails are revamped with new interpretations! If going for the tried and true steakhouse cocktail, the Hog’s Head Old Fashioned is a must try. The whiskey barrel starts in France before aging the whiskey in Tennessee and now you’ll find it coming out of the elevator by the front doors!
Happy hour is Monday - Friday from 4 - 6pm where all beer is $1 off and wine by the glass is $4 off!
