We visited the new Suburban Yacht Club in Plano and felt like we had been transported to a beachside boardwalk in California! With a Baja inspired menu and tropical cocktails, this new coastal cantina is a must-visit! Although we’re far from the coast, the restaurant is located at the Boardwalk Granite Park in Plano, which backs right up to the water and is our own little oasis right in the suburbs!

THE FOOD

The menu is seafood heavy with a lot of healthy options too! You’ll find tons of Baja classics like ceviche, fish tacos, protein bowls and a grilled fish sandwich. The standout items to us were the shrimp burrito and little gem salad!

Fun fact: the chef behind the menu is Brian Luscher of the beloved Greenville Ave restaurant, The Grape!

THE DRINKS

When you sit down the first thing you’ll experience is what they call a “toast to the coast”, which is a refreshing fruit flavored aqua fresca that they bring to every table. It will instantly put you in a tropical state of mind.

The cocktail menu follows the coastal theme with names like Basic Beach and Seafoam Surfer. They also have a list of delicious frozen drinks too!

THE SPACE

Although the drinks and the food were 10/10, the interior might have been our favorite part. There was no detail left untouched. From cane accents and natural wood details to blue leather bar stools and fun wallpaper, everywhere you turn is an insta-worthy moment!

And the expansive patio that looks out onto the boardwalk for water views!

HOURS + HAPPY HOUR

They are open Sun-Mon from 11am-10pm and Tues-Sat 11am-11pm! Make sure to stop by Mon-Fri from 3pm-6pm for $2 off house wine and draft beer, $5 Socorro and Tito’s, fish tacos and ceviche and $6 house margs, queso and elote!
