Located in the new East Quarter in between Downtown and Deep Ellum, the bottom floor of the three-story restaurant, National Anthem, is here!

From local restauranteur Nick Badovinus of Desert Racer, YO Lobster and Town Hearth to name a few, National Anthem is the first public project of many to come to come to the East Quarter development. It occupies the historic Magnolia Petroleum Building we’ve always hoped would transform into something Dallasites could enjoy!



The building is long and thin, resembling the Flat Iron in New York. It’s unique gold brick exterior and huge windows always stood out too and Badovinus’s team has done a beautiful job bringing it back to life through the Americana themed restaurant. Inside, you’ll find a decor similar to his other concepts - lots of plants, old motorcycles, books and trinkets and pop art to adorn the walls. Even the staff is dressed in retro car shop suits or denim shirts to match the throwback American vibes.

There’s a small patio outside at the top of the building and coming soon: the second story and rooftop, both which will open by the end of year!



Much like Nick’s other concepts, you’ll find a casual but elevated menu of shareables, burgers and entrees. The beloved Neighborhood Services meatballs made the menu which are not to be missed, and of all the things we sampled, the Cauli Bang Bang aka an Asian inspired fried cauliflower dish was a standout.

For drinks, there’s a long list of cocktails and wine to sip, and a happy hour in the making. The bar opens at 4 pm daily and was a fun, airy scene of people chatting post-work.



The dining room opens at 5 pm with lunch coming eventually. National Anthem isn’t yet taking reservations and you might notice their website and Instagram don’t have information available. You just have to show up essentially!

The space is gorgeous, the building is a marvel and the food, always on point at any Badovinus restaurant!
